You are better off laying up short of the bunker and staying in the fairway. Rough or sand is almost a guaranteed bogie.

You are better off laying up short and staying in the fairway. You are in for bogie or worse if you hit the bunker or rough.

You are better off hitting an iron or three wood off the tee and laying up short of the bunker. If you miss the fairway you are also in for a bogie or worse.
